Scenario:

WOW! I love this blog. It really has everything I like. It offers tools, updated information, and tutorial video that I need. But wait, There’s no way for me to stay connected. I can’t always visit the site because I have to keep up with my Twitter, myspace, and facebook accounts.

Even though my scenario is kind for dorky, it still hold truth. That true is you are going to need one need one way you stay in connect with your audience. In fact your probably going to need about 3 or 4.

Don’t start freakin’ out on me, this doesn’t have to be hard or time consuming. Think of is as a way expanding your brand.

1) RSS

Definition (by wikipedia ): is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video in a standardized format. An RSS document (which is called a “feed,” “web feed,”or “channel”) includes full or summarized text plus meta data such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content quickly and automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place.

RSS or Really Simple Syndication is one of the most well known and widely used because is brings information to the people allowing a constant connection between new information and reader.

2) Email

If you don’t know what Email is here’s a heads up.

Definition (by wikipedia): Electronic mail, often abbreviated to e-mail, email, or originally eMail, is a store-and-forward method of writing, sending, receiving and saving messages over electronic communication systems.

Its not as cool as RSS but it still really really useful in your arsenal, so look into it.

3) Instant Messaging or IM

IM is by-no-means new, but it is a recently added feature for blogger. Its gaining popularity because its more efficient then say……. Email (sorry email). It allows you to connect fast and more easily with visitor how want to say hello.

4) Phone

Its cost, its slightly time consuming, and its older the your grandmother. Auhhh yes, the phone. Its not that glamorous but its still works well and can really work well if you have a service or product that you want to sale locally.

5) Twitter

What’s Twitter you ask?

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. And with Twitter you can keep your visitors up-to-date about everything your doing with your blog and/or site.

6) MySpace.com

People from all over the world visit blogs on a daily bases gathering information, music, files, video, codes, news, and more. That said the importance of visitors remain priority number one.

You have to think like a visitor in order to truly understand what it is that attracts them. This can be a little easier for the newer bloggers because it hasn’t be long seen they wore just a visitors.

The mind for a visitor is simple: find, read, understand, comment, repeat. Lets break that down. Find a blog within the subject there looking for. Read a piece of information (i.e. a article) that can help them learn something, understanding how valueable that information is to them and how important it could be for others. Then commenting on the topic at hand.

What you need to do is put yourself in the visitorsshoes. Find out what they like and expand on it writing in-depth article that entice readers to join in. You can achieve this by taking time off from your blog and visiting other blogs in your niche. Specifically comment area in those blogs. There you’ll find what people with in the forum asking question and giving statements. This is what your looking for. If a question is asked you need to have the answer to it in your blog because odds area that person isn’t the only one that would link to know the answer. You should also visit message boards and socials sites as well. Doing this improves your changes of becoming outstanding blogger with plenty of readers.
