In fact, studies show that -according to Techcrunch&#8217;s Layoff Tracker- about 19,683 employees have been laid off since the downturn. Pretty strong numbers considering where we were just last year. Ebay alone has report about 1500 layouts and so have yahoo.</strong></p>

<p>And if there feeling the heat, imagine what the smaller start-ups are feeling. That&#8217;s where my original question comes into play. Is there a Web Application extinction coming?</p>
<p>To answer that question as truthfully as  humanly possible, I can only say its very possible.</p>
<p><strong>An Inside Look</strong></p>
<p>Let&#8217;s look at what&#8217;s happening today. Since the start of the economic busted, companies in every industry have been feeling the heat, including that of automotive, retail, investment, banking, manufacturing and yes, technology.</p>
<p>Tech companies are feeling there pockets shrink and because of this, they are forced to eliminate jobs to stay afloat. Some have even closed there doors.</p>

4.Yahoo (1,520 Employees)<br />
5.HP (24,600 Employees)<br />
6.Texas Instruments (possibly 300 Employees)<br />
7. Qimonda (3,000 Employees)<br />
8. Laird (5,000 Employees)<br />
9. Sony (16,000 Employees)<br />
10. Netflix (50 Employees)</p>
