If you own your own business, one of the responsibilities you have is keeping your computer up-to-date. You’re also in charge of your own finances and keeping expenses down. You can take care of both matters by using HP coupons. These online coupons are available on the website for different products, such as laptops, desktop computers, accessories, bundles, printers, and more. The offers are updated on a regular basis, so you should check the site often for new coupons and to make sure a coupon you were interested in using hasn’t expired.

Once you take a look at the website and familiarize yourself with it, you’ll notice you can view the coupons in several different ways: by the best offers, the most recent offers, the expired offers, or all of the offers. You may want to continuously check each way when you’re new to the site until you know it well enough to sort it the way you want to see it.

If you’re looking for something in particular, such as a laptop or printer, you can use the “HP categories” sidebar to look for coupons particular to those items. Of course, you’ll be limited to current offers on those items only, and there may be limited offers or none currently available.

The coupons are set up to be used when ordering the products online. A coupon code is provided for you to enter when you place your order. You can also look up similar offers by clicking on the “more coupons” arrow on each coupon. You will then be provided links to similar offers. For example, if you’re looking at a coupon for a notebook, “more coupons” may include more HP laptops. If you already consider the HP website as your one-stop-shop for all of your computer and printing needs, the coupons will be an added bonus for you.

Do to economic distress, the tech industry has been laying employees off left and right. In fact, studies show that -according to Techcrunch’s Layoff Tracker- about 19,683 employees have been laid off since the downturn. Pretty strong numbers considering where we were just last year. Ebay alone has report about 1500 layouts and so have yahoo.

And if there feeling the heat, imagine what the smaller start-ups are feeling. That’s where my original question comes into play. Is there a Web Application extinction coming?

To answer that question as truthfully as humanly possible, I can only say its very possible.

An Inside Look

Let’s look at what’s happening today. Since the start of the economic busted, companies in every industry have been feeling the heat, including that of automotive, retail, investment, banking, manufacturing and yes, technology.

Tech companies are feeling there pockets shrink and because of this, they are forced to eliminate jobs to stay afloat. Some have even closed there doors.

Some Recent Layoffs
1. Break.com (11 Employees)
2. Dell (8,900 Employees)
3. Imeem (20 Employees)
4.Yahoo (1,520 Employees)
5.HP (24,600 Employees)
6.Texas Instruments (possibly 300 Employees)
7. Qimonda (3,000 Employees)
8. Laird (5,000 Employees)
9. Sony (16,000 Employees)
10. Netflix (50 Employees)

Read’s Thoughts

If you’d like to voice your opinion about this article, feel free. I respect and acknowledge each and every thought expressed. So make sure you put your ideas down in the comment area so everyone can see.

If you never agree with me on anything else, I know you’ll agree that viruses and the time it takes for your antivirus software to find and eliminate them sucks. But, until someone creates a program that instantly detects viruses and destroy them, this is something we all have to live with. But, there is one thing we can do to fight against these harmful men made creations.

Bugs on computers have been a problem since the beginning. They’ve cause all kinds of problems including small problems like slowing down computers to bigger ones like crashing whole networks. Because of this, a new industry was created and is making billions every year. I’m talking about the anti- harmful bug/spying/etc market.

These companies number in the hundreds all across the world. From familiar place like the United States of American, China, the United Kingdom to Finland, Russia, South Africa, and India. Basically there is at less a hand full of companies in every major country on the planet.

There is a way to hedge against spending $30 to $50 of more on software. (1) You can get a free or Open Source AntiVirus program. [Example: Clamwin Free Antivirus , ClamAV , or AVG Basic (2) You can scan files before opening them. I like to us Filterbit , VirusTotal R|H TOP CHOICE, Virscan and VirusChief (3) Or get a broswer with a antivirus program add-on. [Example: Dr.Web anti-virus link checker, Norton Add-On Pack , or McAfee Security Alerts , etc.

But, the thing is you may still need one good antivirus software like Norton, Mcafee or BitDefender Antivirus. This is becasuse they simple work well. And isn’t that what we want? What’s 10 minutes -give or take- compared to the value of a health computer? It should be like a walk is the park compared to the frustration of losing work, important information, or worst your whole computer.

Molly McDonald from over at Demogirl.com shows you how to disable the “Awesome Bar” in Fire Fox.

The other day a friend of mine suddenly freaked out when he saw a long list of bookmarks drop down every time he started typing a URL into the address bar in Firefox. I couldn’t understand the confusion because I thought everyone knew about “The Awesome Bar” in Firefox 3 and how to disable it. Well, it turns out that he had just installed Firefox 3 and knew nothing about the “helpful” Awesome Bar. It was very clear that he didn’t want any part of it so I sent him a link explaining how to disable it. The response I got was, “That looks confusing, I’ll just install the old bar”. I found that unacceptable and decided that if he didn’t know how to disable it, others may not either. It’s a very quick fix and I think the screencast below should help anyone who would rather see how to disable it rather then read about how to disable it. Oh, and I just noticed that it seems The Awesome Bar is now called the Smart Location Bar. Whatever it’s called, if you want to learn how to make it stop, watch the screencast below: -by Molly McDonald-
