Scenario:
WOW! I love this blog. It really has everything I like. It offers tools, updated information, and tutorial video that I need. But wait, There’s no way for me to stay connected. I can’t always visit the site because I have to keep up with my Twitter, myspace, and facebook accounts.
Even though my scenario is kind for dorky, it still hold truth. That true is you are going to need one need one way you stay in connect with your audience. In fact your probably going to need about 3 or 4.
Don’t start freakin’ out on me, this doesn’t have to be hard or time consuming. Think of is as a way expanding your brand.
1) RSS
Definition (by wikipedia ): is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated works such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video in a standardized format.An RSS document (which is called a “feed,” “web feed,”or “channel”) includes full or summarized text plus meta data such as publishing dates and authorship. Web feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content quickly and automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favored websites or to aggregate feeds from many sites into one place.
RSS or Really Simple Syndication is one of the most well known and widely used because is brings information to the people allowing a constant connection between new information and reader.
2) Email
If you don’t know what Email is here’s a heads up.
Definition (by wikipedia): Electronic mail, often abbreviated to e-mail, email, or originally eMail, is a store-and-forward method of writing, sending, receiving and saving messages over electronic communication systems.
Its not as cool as RSS but it still really really useful in your arsenal, so look into it.
3) Instant Messaging or IM
IM is by-no-means new, but it is a recently added feature for blogger. Its gaining popularity because its more efficient then say……. Email (sorry email). It allows you to connect fast and more easily with visitor how want to say hello.
4) Phone
Its cost, its slightly time consuming, and its older the your grandmother. Auhhh yes, the phone. Its not that glamorous but its still works well and can really work well if you have a service or product that you want to sale locally.
5) Twitter
What’s Twitter you ask?
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. And with Twitter you can keep your visitors up-to-date about everything your doing with your blog and/or site.
6) MySpace.com
MySpace is a popular social networking website offering an interactive, user-submitted network of friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music and videos for teenagers and adults internationally. Use it for is community feature to stay in contact with you visit and attract others to your blog, site, or service.
7) Skpye
Skype is software that allows users to make telephone calls over the Internet. Calls to other users of the service and to free-of-charge numbers are free, while calls to other landlines and mobile phones can be made for a fee. Additional features include instant messaging, file transfer and video conferencing. Call is a international version of your home phone.
